Yoga is a sanskrit
word that literally means "yoke" or "union" and in it's broadest sense a
yogi is one who seeks union of body, mind, and soul.
The human condition is
such that each of us must work through a process of reintegration
during the course of our life in order to realize a state in which we
are happy and free.
In various ways we may
sense an inability to feel as free and happy as we know we could be and
may long for things to be different.
Yoga is an approach
toward harnessing or unifying the various aspects of our existence - our
body, mind and soul- so that we can move toward that place, or space,
where we are one with the whole of existence.
Some call this space
GOD, some call it ONENESS; yoga calls it SAMADHI.
It is a state of total absorption into the very stuff of
existence.
